Ryan Salcido is a music educator and a professional trumpet player in the greater Phoenix area. Ryan served as a band director for 12 years in the Deer Valley, Gilbert, and Peoria school districts. He currently plays in the Arizona Wind Symphony, a wind band based in Tempe, Arizona.
Ryan received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Arizona State University in 2013. While at ASU, Ryan was a featured trumpet soloist and served as trumpet section leader for the Sun Devil Marching Band. Ryan marched trumpet with The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps in 2008 and was a soloist in 2009.
As a classroom band director, Ryan’s junior high and high school bands consistently earned ratings of “Superior” at district, area, and state band festivals. He has had numerous students earn spots in the Region Honor Band and Arizona All-State Honor Band. Ryan has also had many students perform in the advanced rounds of “Solo & Ensemble” contest.
In addition to teaching in the classroom, Ryan has been a frequent presenter at the Arizona Music Educators Conference and neighboring school districts in Phoenix, Arizona. He has served as a marching band and concert band adjudicator for Arizona Band and Orchestra Director’s association since 2017.
